Grand National Weather

Grand National weather is a factor and can affect racecourse conditions underfoot, otherwise known as the going. The weather should also be a consideration if you are planning to visit Aintree and you should aim to dress accordingly!

Last year the warmest Grand National in recent times was held, with over 70,000 spectators in attendance for Saturday's action. Temperatures reached 22°C in the afternoon, around the time of the big race, forcing organisers to bring in additional bottled water and ice to keep punters cool. Aintree Runners even had to be doused with cold water to help them keep cool!

The weather is expected to be much cooler this year so if you are attending the Aintree Grand National, be sure to wear warm clothes. However, expect the unexpected, the weather is proving to be more and more unpredictable these days!
